A Year of Pillow Talk returns with their biggest party yet– on July 22nd, their taking over to host prodigious digger/DJ extraordinaire, Izaak– coming all the way from San Francisco.

You may know him as the producer behind Loveshadow, who’s 2020 Music From Memory release was an ode to every great 80s disco-pop 12” dub mix, or perhaps you picked up a copy of Kraig Kilby’s Satori – a long lost spiritual jazz gem that he reissued with the Just Us Records imprint he co-runs with Detroit’s Bill Spencer.

Maybe you’ve stumbled into the hole that is his Youtube or Soundcloud page, where you’ll find pitch perfect oddities, cooked just right in a never ending archive of dubbed out wave, pop, disco, and lovers rock. You bet he’s got *a sound* and I’ll be damned if it isn’t one of our favourites to sit inside of.

With that, they cordially invite you to join them for a night with the Internet King of Balearic, the GOAT with the most– IZAAK (of Lovehadow). If you haven’t dived in, now’s the time– you won’t want to miss swaying to this one.

Our series, “Shorts In Conversation,” makes a moment for cinema and dialogue. We invite an organization to curate a showing of films alongside their makers, followed by the directors in dialogue about their craft. As part of the A!R program at Ace Toronto, we invite A!R partner, Images Festival to curate the program with the respective artist in Resident. This iteration will feature work by Alize Zorlutuna, Nisha Duggal, Peng Zuqiang, Zinnia Naqvi and Natalie Wood.
