世界のエースホテルにて同時開催する「アーティスト・イン・レジデンス(AIR)」、日本はキュレーション・パートナーに村上隆氏が率いるカイカイキキによる新人アーティストアインキュベーションイベント「GEISAI #22」から、「エースホテル京都賞」を受賞した4名のアーティストを選出。2023年夏から2024年夏まで、各アーティストそれぞれ約3ヶ月間の展示期間を設け、作品をお披露目します。

エースホテル京都でのアーティスト第一弾は妄想屋台プロデューサー(Shinichiro Wakita) さん。アニメーションの技法を取り入れ、忽然と現れては消える屋台の哀愁や、それをとりまく人物・動物・建物の物語を描きます。今回の展示は「京都烏丸姉小路東入ル妄想屋台通」と題し、ロビーギャラリーに在りし日の妄想屋台国家の一部を再現。当時の記録、そして復元された動く屋台。夏の終わりにノスタルジックで怪しげな妄想屋台の世界へ、いざ。

作品展示期間：2023年8月21日(月)〜10月30日(月)

Artist In Residence Exhibition | On view August 20–October 30, 2023 In partnership with GEISAI, we invited MOUSO-YATAI Producer to warm the house as our inaugural Artist In Residence. Influenced by animation techniques, MOUSO-YATAI Producer’s work spans various motifs including characters, animals, buildings and the food stalls which appear and disappear around the city without a trace, leaving behind their melancholy memory. Join us for the opening reception on August 25 from 18:00–19:00 in our Lobby gallery.
