Come listen to stories you can sink your teeth into! Hosted by KJ Kearney, the 2024 James Beard Award winner for best social media account, BITE THE POWER™️ is the first traveling storytelling event focused on Black food and the people who love it!
Each presenter has 8 minutes to tell the Black food story of their choice. Whether it be something inspirational, motivational, informative, funny, or a combination of all, come listen to stories you can sink your teeth into!

About KJ Kearney:
KJ Kearney is a James Beard Award-winning social media influencer and community organizer based in North Charleston, South Carolina. With proven skills as an Olympic-level small talker, freelance interviewer, panel moderator, essayist, event and on-screen host, and corporate ERG speaker, KJ started Black Food Fridays in April of 2020 to highlight Black-owned restaurants that were open during COVID-19. It has since evolved into an aggregate landing page for people who are intentional about spending with Black-owned food-based businesses. KJ has worked for household brands such as Target, Meta, and Pepsi and has recently launched a traveling Black food storytelling event called BITE THE POWER™️. In honor of his work in historically excluded communities and his James Beard win, KJ KEARNEY DAY (July 8th, 2024) was proclaimed in his hometown of Charleston.
