ロビーギャラリー : 現実と理想の中で揺らぐ世界観をカラフルに、ノスタルジックに描く高木耕一郎氏。モチーフは多くの場合、動物や擬人化された動物達であり、その表情は時にかわいらしく、時に牙を向け鑑賞者を睨みつけます。作品はどれも匿名性と神秘性が内包され、親近感と違和感が混在する絶妙な居心地の悪さを生んでいます。揺れ動く人々の心情や揺らぐ価値観の中で、各々にとっての真実とは何かを問いかけます。国内外の企画展やグループ展の参加や個展開催で画家として精力的な活動を行い、UNIQLO、ZUCCa、BEAMS、PORTERやPaul Smithなどのアパレルブランドへのデザイン提供やコラボレーションも数多く手掛けています。 高木さんの展示会が2月1日から31日まで開催されます。

Chévere Salsa’s Golden Era, a Visual Language at Gallery
The late 1960s through the mid-’70s was a period of renaissance for the Puerto Rican community of New York City. The era saw the birth of numerous critical movements which, in spite of their global impact, have largely gone unexplored. The soundtrack to that time was undoubtedly salsa, a genre and culture birthed in New York City.
