In the year 2000, music man Miles (Tackett) of The Breakestra, vinyl record archaeologist Dj Egon of Stones Throw/Now Again records & the legendary Dj Cut Chemist started a low key party called “At the Soul Inn” in Silverlake. After a relocation, they spent the next 7 years building the community at the Star Shoes Bar until the bar’s closing. Ultimately landing at the legendary Silverlake haunt, El Cid, and have spent the last 14 years bringing in old and new funk sounds from around the globe. Funky Sole is a true celebration of the music and one of the last remaining all vinyl parties of its kind nationwide.
