9月のメスカルナイトは、9月16日のメキシコ独立記念日（スペイン領から独立した祝日）にあたります。「VIVA !（万歳）」どこからともなくそんな掛け声が聞こえるメキシコの独立記念日。独立後、発展し数多くの人種が混ざりあうメキシコ。メキシコ文化と世界中のフードカルチャーが混在するロサンゼルスで育ったメキシコ系アメリカ人のウェス・アヴィラ監修によるバー＆タコスラウンジ「PIOPIKO（ピオピコ）」で、伝統的なアメリカン風メキシコ料理をルーツとしたモダンタコスと種類豊富なテキーラとメスカル、ラテンビートを聞きながら、「メキシコ」とはどんな国なのか肌で感じてみませんか。
