The late 1960s through the mid-’70s was a period of renaissance for the Puerto Rican community of New York City. The era saw the birth of numerous critical movements which, in spite of their global impact, have largely gone unexplored. The soundtrack to that time was undoubtedly salsa, a genre and culture birthed in New York City. Cake, Cookie, Pie! with Pelah Kitchen at Demo Kitchen
Cherry Bombe presents Cake, Cookie, Pie! A series of delicious demos with the Ace Hotel Brooklyn featuring the coolest bakers around. From botanical cakes to geometric pies, we’ll learn from women who are making a scene with their one-of-a-kind desserts. In February, we start things off with a cake decorating demo and conversation with Jenneh K of Pelah Kitchen. Ticket includes a slice of cake and a glass of sparkling wine or mocktail.

Josephine Estelle Pasta Making Workshop at Josephine Estelle
Executive Chef Trey Williams and the Josephine Estelle crew are hosting their pasta-making and wine-tasting class on April 20 from 2-4pm. Chef demonstrates how to create and hand roll pasta dough then takes the result and serves it with one of our famous sauces. The party doesn’t stop there, we’ll have Pietra Bijos, our area director of food & beverage, guiding participants through a wine tasting to cap a delicious meal.
