EXHIBITION: ARATA HIGUCHI at Ace Hotel Kyoto
今回のギャラリー展示のテーマは「花暦」。 樋口さん曰く 「ホテルという宿泊施設を出発点において考えてみようと思い、ホテル、京都、旅行、と連想を続けていくうちに、「四季折々の京都を旅行する」というテーマにいたり、制作に取り掛かることにしました。季節の移り変わりをその時々の花の連作であらわし、その表現方法を京都で育まれた日本の画から採り入れました。全作品を通して画の中にはある生物を描いています。その生物とはカメレオンなのですが、私は普段、人の喜怒哀楽をカメレオンという形を通して表現しています。今回彼らには四季の京都を感じる心を表してもらっています。エースホテルに宿泊される皆様の旅もまた心豊かなものとなりますよう、願いを込めて作品を描かせていただきました。」
