- 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm | Friday January 31, 2025
- Atrium | Ace Hotel Brooklyn
- 252 Schermerhorn St.
Ring in the Lunar New Year with A+A+A and NEW INC! Celebrate the year of the Wood Snake, a symbol of wisdom, agility, and growth at Ace Hotel Brooklyn. A+A+A’s scenic design will transform the hotel, taking inspiration from Madame White Snake 白素貞, a Tang Dynasty Chinese Folktale telling the tragic love story between a goddess and a human.
Dong Ping-Wong, founder of Food Architects, Food Mahjong Club and NEW INC Advisory Board member, will host a bracket-style Mahjong tournament—with prizes for the finalists (previous prizes have included New Museum Memberships and gifts from Jia Sung, Land to Sea, and TRUST Studios).
Experience an exhibition and performance of Hacking Grains by NEW INC member Trevor Van de Velde. Hacking Grains showcases hacked rice cookers crafted into a mini synth-orchestra. The evening will also include DJ and Saxophone duo Katty + Jin, a Lunar New Year inspired foodscape by Edible Affairs, and a mask crafting station by A+A+A.
This is a free event hosted by Ace Hotel Brooklyn and co-presented with A+A+A and NEW INC. A+A+A are NEW INC alumni, Year 11 Community Mentors, and the curators and producers of the Social Architecture showcase in DEMO2025.
