Urban Whimsy: A Floral Urban Sculpture

The Urban Whimsy installation by Sean Knibb at the Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles is an exploration of urban adaptability, sustainability, and artistic expression. By repurposing and elevating inexpensive materials like milk crates, Knibb and the Flowerboy team create a unique floral urban sculpture that challenges traditional notions of art and design. This installation will be displayed on the mezzanine in LOAM from June 23 to June 30.

 

About Sean Knibb

Sean Knibb is a visionary designer with a profound understanding of spaces. His approach is characterized by attentive listening, keen observation, creative thinking, and uplifting designs. As the founder of Knibb Design and Flowerboy Project a renowned design studio and concept flower bodega in Los Angeles, he has successfully undertaken a wide range of projects, spanning hotels, cruise ships, restaurants, bars, corporate interiors, residential estates, gardens and more. With roots in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Sean’s passion for design blossomed at a young age while tending to anthuriums in his grandparent’s garden. This upbringing, influenced by the vibrant tropical nature and the structured colonial environment, has shaped his ability to balance the untamed beauty of the natural world with the disciplined geometry of man-made structures. Throughout his career, Sean has collaborated with renowned landscape and furniture designers, as well as various architectural firms, demonstrating his seamless execution of projects from inception to completion. Despite his success, Sean remains grounded in his values, prioritizing sustainability and mindful design that harmonizes with the environment. His unwavering commitment to natural, purposeful, and innovative creations has solidified his position as a respected figure in the industry.
