This week’s performance: Aliyah Niambi

Born in the soulful city of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and nurtured in the vibrant musical landscape of the Philadelphia area, Aliyah Niambi’s journey into the world of music began at the age of six when she first picked up a trumpet.

Her childhood was steeped in the rich traditions of jazz, where she immersed herself in the world of this expressive and improvisational genre. Jazz wasn’t just a passion for Aliyah; it was a calling that would shape her future. This commitment to her craft led her to the prestigious New School University Jazz & Contemporary Music Program, where she delved into the intricacies of trumpet performance and formed lifelong connections with some of the finest musicians in the world. In 2006, Aliyah embarked on a new chapter in her musical journey, expanding her repertoire to include production and songwriting.

Thus, Aliyah Niambi was born—a distinctive electro vocalist who seamlessly blended autotuned vocals with the soulful essence of jazz.  Aliyah’s music is a testament to her boundless creativity, and each performance is a unique experience, a journey through the intersections of jazz and electro, guided by her masterful trumpet playing and soulful vocals.
