QUERI: Brooklyn Pop Up
- 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm | Thursday September 22, 2022
- Garden | Ace Hotel Brooklyn
- 252 Schermerhorn St
Rhode Island’s largest archive of decision-paralysis relief tools —is coming to Ace Hotel Brooklyn for a one-night only interactive pop up on Thursday, September 22nd, 2023 from 7–9 PM.
The QUERI archive contains nearly 100 objects, most of which are functional. While aesthetically adjacent to the tools of fortune-telling, paranormal studies, lie detection, and astrology, QUERI’s objects— with some exception —tend to offer concrete answers. From double-sided coins and marked stones that call back to the earliest days of cleromancy, to mid-century liquid filled dice agitators, the archive is filled with objects that generate as many questions as they answer. New Yorkers suffering from decision-paralysis: come get the relief you deserve! In addition to rare display-only objects, we’ll have a variety of stations set up for dice rolling, coin flipping, wheel spinning, and more.
Brooklyn’s own DJ Tara will provide a soundtrack to our evening, and the hotel’s bar will be operating for those seeking relief by other means.
Prospective attendees, please note that all answers should be viewed as fun, outside-the-box advice and are in no way intended to guide specific behaviors. QUERI is not responsible for any harm or anguish caused by implementing QUERI-generated advice in any individual’s life or organization’s operation. QUERI is, however, fully responsible for all positive outcomes.
This is an interactive event, meaning guests will be allowed to use select devices in the collection. Due to the fragile nature of some objects, QUERI staff may be required to operate them on guests’ behalf, and not all objects will be interactive. Note that some objects are intended only for mature audiences. To learn more about the collection, visit our Home page.
