Celebrate #NYCPride in iconic style as 1978! Studio 54 Reimagined returns to Ace Hotel New York. The sonic dance adventure into timeless sounds from funk to house music is headlined by Resident-Curator Selectress Iriela, special guest DJ Eddy Plenty (Turntables On The Hudson) and a live performance by Angelala, a dynamic singer-songwriter who has collaborated with top producers like Todd Terry and Alexander Technique!

 

The House of Kellogg (HOK), is styling the 1978 lineup with one-of-a-kind colorful pieces! HOK is mos def #FashionablyFair, reducing the fashion industry’s carbon footprint with humor and irreverent imagery – their limited run collections will add some NYC sparkle to the vibe so come one, come all and Dress to Express! 

And! if you are lucky, you’ll have the chance to score your own personalized looks painted live at our Live Art Pop Up by New York’s hottest multimedia underground artist, Mr. Moda!

Early arrival is recommended for our limited 1978 Signature Cocktail “I Feel Love” Pride Tasting featuring Mijenta, an award-winning, additive-free, sustainable Tequila from Jalisco, and Tres Tribus, a small batch artisanal mezcal from the mountains of Oaxaca!

1978 Events was born from Selectress Iriela’s record collection, where the year 1978 symbolized timeless sound. Launched in 2014 in Brooklyn, 1978 has featured guests like Sal P (Liquid Liquid), Natasha Diggs, and BreakBeat Lou, celebrating the intersection of timeless music and club culture.

Selectress Iriela (IRIE-LA), 1978 Resident & Curator, recently completed her six-country, 15-date Healing World Tour. An artist since 1996, Iriela’s sets transcend genres from house to techno, funk, disco, reggae and soul. She has played alongside legends like Louie Vega, Chaka Khan, and Marc Rebillet, known for her deep purpose and innovative productions.

Second World is a production company and sister nonprofit evolved from global empowerment work, fostering a conscious tech platform for events, festivals, art, dance, film, fashion, music production, and more.
