A.CHAL [DJ SET]

Under the name A.CHAL, Peruvian-born singer, songwriter, and producer Alejandro Chal offers a moody, atmospheric take on electronic R&B, phsycadelic experimental soundscapes, and hard hitting rhythms. Switching between English and Spanish. Chal’s family moved to the U.S. when he was four years old, settling in Queens, New York. He began rapping at a young age and soon began experimenting with beats with a neighborhood friend. Relocating to Los Angeles in 2010 to pursue a music career, Chal self-released his debut EP, 2013’s Ballroom Riots, which caught the interest of Sony, who signed him to a publishing deal. His 2015 single “Round Whippin”” found widespread exposure when Beats1 Du Zane Lowe gave the song a world premiere on his show. It was an effective boon to Chal’s career, and by year’s end he’d racked up numerous critical accolades. “Round Whippin'” was included on his 2016 debut full-length, Welcome to GAZI, introducing his hazy, nocturnal sound to an even larger audience.

In 2019, after two successful independent releases, A.CHAL signed with Epic Records. Following the commercial success of his bilingual hits “Love & Henessy” and “000000”, the artist sought to get back to the root of his inspiration. He left his label in 2021, with the goal of curating a sound more authentic to his world of references. Between

2021 – 2023, recording between Peru, New York, Paris, and Los Angeles, A.CHAL produced his most personal & transcending record to date: ESPÍRITU

LOVIE

Lovie’s music discovery was born in the digital music age: a young lover of local radio and after-school MTV marathons, her early mixes took shape in the form of burned CDs she made for friends. In relocating from her hometown of Washington, D.C. to New York in August of 2020, Lovie’s unique selection swiftly ushered her into New York’s local music scene. Within a year, she’d earned a Lot Radio residency; and has since become a staple at notable venues throughout the city, a resident of the beloved Coloring Lessons by musclecars, and a cofounder of Brooklyn’s sweetest party, Soul Connection. Lovie’s sets guarantee a sweet, soulful, and spiritual selection, as she interweaves soul, disco, and house into a sound that creates warmth, and makes you move.

CZ WANG

CZ Wang has been making significant waves in the music industry in recent years. His track “Just Off Wave” became a modern classic, receiving critical acclaim and steadily gaining popularity through impressive streaming numbers. Despite the pandemic-induced quarantine, CZ used the time to establish himself as an engineer, refining his skills in mixing and producing for various artists.

Like-minded musicians sought CZ’s engineering prowess, leading to collaborations with names like Huerco S, Okay Kaya, Jack J, Daniela Lalita, and the highly anticipated release of Natural Wonder Beauty Concept, featuring Ana Roxanne and DJ Python in July 2023. These collaborations solidified CZ’s reputation as a versatile producer, generating anticipation within the music community.

As the world reopens, it finally catches up to CZ’s talent. Over the past year, CZ has mesmerized audiences throughout North America with his DJ sets, selling out shows at acclaimed venues such as Public Records, Nowadays, Bar Part Time, Third Place, Moony Habits, Research Seattle, MoMa PS1, Systeme, Sunday Sunday, and Standard Time.
