– About

Based in Los Angeles, Nina5000 is the side project of lead singer and guitarist of Chalk Talk, an all-female indie rock band. Playing in the band since she was 15 years old, touring, and opening for artists such as SASAMI and Magdalena Bay, Nina5000 has grown up around music, solidifying her sound over time. Mainly inspired by electronic indie music from the aughts, Nina5000 explores genre-fusing her indie rock roots with more electronic pop elements.

‘Best Boy Electric’ takes on a nostalgic an personal tone, capturing reflections on identity and place. Hailing from the Port of Los Angeles, Charlie Havenick‘s music is nautical, timeless and dense. After releasing her album in 2023, Havenick went to a well-attended West Coast tour, played in London, and opened for Marika Hackman, Dutch Interior and Michael Seyer. Her music has been featured on Fresh Finds, Indie Twang, and Sub Pop suggests. Charlie is teaching artist for Los Angeles Philharmonic and drums for several other artists on the side. Havenick recently scored her first feature film, playing guitars, synths, drums, trumpet and lap steel. In October 2024, she co-produced a split EP with Finnish Postcard, ‘Exceptions to the Rule’.
