新たな音を求めて。 Floatingをアンビエント音楽レジデンシーとして迎え、10月から12月までの3か月、毎月一回ロビーライブを開催。10月15日にはヴィブラフォン奏者であり、作曲家のMasayoshi Fujita氏を迎え、音楽の新境地を追求する音の世界へと旅します。
On October 15, vibraphonist Masayoshi Fujita kicks off a new series, bringing ethereally layered compositions that plumb new depths of the instrument for our Floating residency.

ヴィブラフォン、マリンバ奏者、作曲家。
幼少期より演奏していたドラムからヴィブラフォンへ転向後、伝統的な演奏スタイ ルやテクニック、作曲法にとらわれる事なく唯一無二の音とヴィブラフォンの新た なる可能性を追い求める。2006年よりドイツ・ベルリンに拠点を移し、オリジナ ル作品の作曲・演奏活動を開始。イギリス・ロンドンのレーベル、イレースト・テ ープスからアルバムをリリースし、ヨーロッパをはじめ世界各国でのコンサートや フェスティバルなどに出演する。これまで10枚のアルバムをリリース。日本では、 2016年にゴンチチの三上雅彦氏とコラボレーションアルバム『Conjecture』を発 表。その他、映画やブランドのイメージビデオなど様々な映像作品への音楽提供も 手がける。2020年より、自然の中で制作活動をするという長年の夢を叶えるため 兵庫県香美町に移住。山の上の集落にスタジオを構え、その雄大な自然からインス ピレーションを受けながら新たな音を世界に発信している。
時に楽器の上に様々な物をのせて演奏する「プリペアド」という手法を用い、ヴィ ブラフォンの持つ独特の音色にさらなる色どりと響きを与えている。しばしば映像 的と評される彼の音楽は、霧の深遠さと静けさ、荘厳な山々などからインスピレー ションを受けた独特の雰囲気と世界観を持ち、まるで物語の挿絵のように聴く者の 脳裏にその情景と物語とを映しだす。また同時に、ヴィブラフォンという比較的新 しい楽器の未開拓の美しさを探求し、オーケストレーションや音楽それ自体の新た なる魅力を追い求める。別名義であるel fogでは、様々な実験的アプローチを用いつ つ、アコースティックとエレクトロニック及びアナログとデジタルの狭間で、ヴィ ブラフォンとエレクトロニック・ミュージックの融合を試みている。また、ドイツ のエレクトロニック・ミュージックの重鎮Jan Jelinek(ヤン・イェリネック)とも 継続的にコラボレーション作品を発表。全世界から高い評価を受け、様々な国のフ ェスティバルやライブに出演している。
2021年に発表した最新ソロアルバム”Bird Ambience”では、これまでに様々なプ ロジェクトで取り組んできたアコースティック・ヴィブラフォンやエレクトロニッ クな音、実験的、即興的な音楽性を統合しつつ、新たにマリンバを中心に据えパー カッションやドラムなども取り入れた、自身の集大成であり新境地ともいえるサウ ンドを展開している。

I started my musical journey on the drums as a child, but later switched to the vibraphone, seeking its unique sound and pushing its boundaries. Since 2006, I’ve been based in Berlin, composing and performing original works. I’ve released ten albums and collaborated with artists worldwide, even venturing into experimental electronic music with Jan Jelinek.
In 2020, I realized my dream of creating music surrounded by nature by relocating to Kamicho, Japan. I use a “prepared” technique, occasionally adding objects to my vibraphone for a distinctive sound. My music is often described as cinematic, drawing inspiration from nature’s beauty.
My latest solo album, “Bird Ambience” (2021), combines acoustic vibraphone, electronic elements, and experimental improvisation, with a focus on marimba, marking a new chapter in my musical journey.

Floating is a monthly arts series that explores the harmony between sound and setting.
They nourish symbiotic relationships among kindred artists, environmental organizations, and unique land projects with the goal of inspiring deeper interdependence among our local communities, cultures, and environments. In addition to gatherings that encourage us to contemplate what it means to belong to an ecosystem, their programming supports a funded seasonal artist residency that explores the relationship between process and environment, as well as land residencies produced in reciprocity with local conservationists and arts communities that foster a deeper connection between people and land. In bringing people together over forward-thinking musical performances, they explore the intersection of music and ecology, envisioning art and performance as integral to the landscape of social organization, all while rehabilitating our relationships with nature and ourselves.
