MISU IS SPINNIN’ AROUND OVER YOU marks the first presentation of MISU in the United States. Developed in Gongju, South Korea, MISU is a series of roasted grain and bean drink mixes rooted in Korea’s long tradition of drinking grains. The exhibition title reflects the continuous movement behind every cup — seeds passed down and planted again, grains moving from field to maker, through roasting and grinding, and finally into our everyday lives.
Working with farmers, researchers and makers, A COLLECTIVE explores Korean heirloom grains not as something preserved in the past, but as ingredients with a place in contemporary food culture. The exhibition brings together all seven MISU varieties: five single-variety heirloom grain and bean mixes, alongside coffee and cacao blends.
Visitors can discover the grains, products and stories behind MISU and take home complimentary samples to prepare and experience for themselves.
A companion presentation by GANJANG UNIVERSE explores Korean ganjang through its makers, ingredients, traditions, and contemporary uses — from traditional forms to new expressions developed for kitchens around the world.

When the fear of not being received well makes stepping outside the box to a new style or medium discouraging? The…

Silly Girl at
Almendra Bertoni is pleased to present Silly Girl, a solo exhibition questioning the roles femininity is asked to inhabit. Bertoni examines the historical archetypes of the Virgin, the Madonna, the Temptress and the Muse, looking to what these archetypes have come to embody in a contemporary context. With an air of otherworldliness, her figurative paintings combine multilayered wooden panels to create dreamlike scenes of contorted bodies and airy architectural spaces. Bertoni’s practice continues to ask how feminine creativity in an…
