人類とカカオが出会ったのはいつか、その時代には諸説がありますが、紀元前から古代メキシコでは、カカオは“神様の食べ物”だったと言われています。ピオピコでは期間限定でエースホテル京都がある新風館にも店舗展開するgreen bean to bar CHOCOLATE様のペルー・マラノンキャニオン産のニブを使った6コースのメキシカンディナーを提供。カカオを練りこんだトルティーヤとワカモレからはじまり、マグロのトスターダ、メインは鴨とメキシコ伝統料理の「モレ」。カカオはもちろん、たくさんの食材を入れてつくる栄養たっぷりのソースで、その味はまるで薄いベールを重ね合わせたかのように複雑で奥深いです。 デザートにはお祝いによく食べられるミルクのスポンジケーキ「トレスレッチェ」のカカオバージョン。さらに、ディナーコースを召し上がって頂いたお客様には、ペルー・マラノンキャニオン産のカカオを使ったチョコレートバーのお土産をプレゼントします。めくるめく「カカオ」のグラデーションをぜひお楽しみ下さい。
