GALLO (Hell Yeah Recordings / Buena Onda)

Born in Ferrara and based in Berlin since 2012, Italian DJ and producer Gallo (Matteo Gallerani) is a distinctive voice in contemporary Balearic music. His widescreen, piano-led sound moves fluidly through ambient, dub, downtempo, soft acid and house, balancing introspection with open-air dancefloor lift.

A longstanding member of Balearic Gabba Sound System, Gallo has released six EPs through Hell Yeah Recordings, alongside work for Slow Motion and Clandestino. His music has appeared on Café del Mar’s 40th Anniversary and Ibiza Chillout Mix II, as well as Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy’s Balearic Breakfast Vol. 2.

He was a longtime resident of Berlin’s Buena Onda, co-compiled its 2020 and 2021 Balearic Beats collections, and previously curated monthly Buena Onda Sessions for Music For Dreams Radio. Recent highlights include “For the People” with Chris Coco and his Tropical Hinterhof remix of Michele Mininni’s “Carousel of Tears.”

His continuing musical dialogue with Japanese artist Calm includes remixes in both directions, Calm’s mastering of Hidden Inside, and a new beatless dub of “Abysso” released in 2026.

イタリア・フェラーラ出身、2012年よりベルリンを拠点に活動するDJ／プロデューサー、Gallo（Matteo Gallerani）。現代のバレアリック・ミュージックを代表する個性的なアーティストの一人として、その音楽はアンビエント、ダブ、ダウンテンポ、ソフト・アシッド、ハウスを自由に行き来し、内省的なムードと開放的なダンスフロアの高揚感を織り交ぜた、ピアノを軸とするワイドスクリーンなサウンドを特徴とする。

長年Balearic Gabba Sound Systemのメンバーとして活動し、Hell Yeah Recordingsから6枚のEPをリリース。Slow MotionやClandestinoからの作品に加え、Café del Marの40周年記念作品や「Ibiza Chillout Mix II」、Colleen “Cosmo” Murphyによる「Balearic Breakfast Vol. 2」にも楽曲が収録されている。

ベルリンのBuena Ondaでは長年レジデントを務め、2020年・2021年の「Balearic Beats」コンピレーションの共同キュレーションも担当。また、Music For Dreams Radioでは「Buena Onda Sessions」の月間プログラムをキュレーションしていた。近年では、Chris Cocoとの「For the People」や、Michele Mininni「Carousel of Tears」のTropical Hinterhofによるリミックスなどを発表している。

日本のアーティストCalmとの音楽的な交流も長く続いており、互いの作品のリミックスをはじめ、Calmによる「Hidden Inside」のマスタリング、そして2026年には「Abysso」の新たなビートレス・ダブ・バージョンをリリースするなど、継続的なコラボレーションを展開している。
