There isn’t parking at Ace Hotel Kyoto, but we can point you to nearby parking options. If you’re driving to the hotel, let us know and we’ll get you to the right place.
Your Stay
You must be 20 or older to book a room. For security purposes, you will be asked to provide a passport at check-in. Please also have your confirmation number and a major credit card ready; cash is accepted at check-in.
Check-in is after 3pm. If you arrive early, we can hold your bags while you explore the house, or take a stroll around town (we’ll point you in the right direction) until your room is available.
Check out is noon. Please confirm your payment by 12pm the day of your check-out. If you’d like a little bit more time after 12pm checkout, we’ll do what we can to accommodate and we’re always more than willing to hold on to your stuff for a few hours at the front desk.
Yes, that can be arranged. The front desk will hold them for you until you’re ready.
Yes, there is free WiFi in all public areas and in guest rooms.
We love pets and yours are welcome at Ace Hotel Kyoto at a friendly rate of 11,000JPY per pet per night (taxes included). By “pet” we mean “dog,” and by “dog” we mean “any dog under 15 kg,” but if you have a larger or stranger friend, just let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate the both of you. Please note that pets are only allowed in guest rooms, and that there will be a pet waiver to sign when you check-in.
Luggage delivered before check-in will be kept at the front desk for free.
Please be sure to include:
- the name of the booking person
- the date of your stay, in the courier slip

Yes, we have Tokyo Bike available to rent for hotel guests, they are first come first serve. We are not able to take reservations for Bike rentals, thanks for understanding.
The gym is open 24 hours at no cost, for guests 16 years of age and older.
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the facility at anytime.
Any activity undertaken within the gym is done entirely at your own risk.
You are responsible for knowing your own physical limitations.
We do not recommend exercise if you feel unwell or have eaten a meal within the last 2 hours or are under the influence of medication or alcohol.
Proper gym attire and shoes are required all the time.
Smoking is not permitted in the gym.
Glassware and alcohol are not permitted.

Ace Hotel Kyoto is not responsible for any injury or loss of personal items.
You can buy some things right out of your room, like the custom Pendleton blanket, vintage vinyl and exclusive wings + horns hoodie robe just by taking them with you — we’ll charge it after you checkout.
We have an online shop too, where you can find Ace-made wares and collaborations, and just some things we think are cool. And if you miss Ace New Orleans, Brooklyn, New York, Palm Springs, Seattle, Portland or Los Angeles, you can find souvenirs you forgot to buy when you were there.
All rooms are completely non-smoking. If you light up inside the hotel we must charge a 37,290 JPY (taxes included) smoking fee to your card. There is a smoking area on the ground floor, light up there and meet a stranger.
Laundry service with regular and overnight cleaning, dry cleaning and pressing is available (chargeable to your bill upon check out). Please fill out the laundry slip provided in your room and contact the front desk. Laundry items received before 9:30, will be delivered back to you at 19: 00 on the day. Any laundry items received before 17:30 will be delivered at 10:00 the next day.
Reservations, Modifications & Cancellations
Our modification and cancellation terms vary per rate plan booked. Please refer to the reservation policies while you are making your reservation. These can be found during the booking process and in your reservation confirmation.
Reservations must be guaranteed with a credit or debit card at the time of booking. Payment is taken upon check-out unless stated otherwise. Please refer to our payment policy and T&Cs when booking online.

There’s a local accommodation tax that we’ll charge when you check in. They’re charged per night, per person and you can find the rates based on reservation rate.
The Kyoto City Accommodation Tax rate will be revised, effective Sunday, March 1, 2026. This revised rate will apply to all stays commencing on or after this date.

*The accommodation tax rate applies to the accommodation charge (excluding consumption tax) per person per night.
*The accommodation charge refers to the room-only rate. This rate is inclusive of service charges but exclusive of consumption tax, meal charges, and similar additional costs.
Rooms
All rooms are equipped with bath products by UKA, a flat-screen TV, radio with input, hairdryer, fully stocked minibar, the best bathrobe from wings+horns, iron, and in-room safe.
There’s a 2 adult maximum room occupancy for Standard King, Standard Twin, Deluxe King, Historic King, Historic Twin with existing bedding. And a 3 adult maximum room occupancy for Deluxe Twin, Ace Suite and Loft Suite. And a 4 adult maximum room occupancy for Tatami Suite. If you want a rollaway bed, it’s 6,215 JPY (service charge and consumption tax included and accommodation tax excluded, per night) and are based on availability — please let us know if you’d like to request one. Rollaway beds can only fit in Deluxe Twin, Ace Suite, and Loft Suite.
The King Bed is W1700mm X L1950mm, and the Twin Bed is W1400mm X L1950mm (some rooms are W1200mm X L1950mm).
Eat, Drink, Venues
Ace Hotel Kyoto features multiple dining and drinking options. Kōsa is our all-day dining restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mr. Maurice’s Italian offers contemporary Italian cuisine on the third floor, with Mr. Maurice’s Rooftop Bar providing craft cocktails and panoramic views. PIOPIKO is our Bar & Taco Lounge bringing casual Mexican-inspired bites and drinks. Stumptown Coffee Roasters serves meticulously sourced, perfectly roasted and expertly brewed specialty coffee.
Kōsa is our all-day dining restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a focus on seasonal ingredients and a menu that blends Japanese and international influences. The name “Kōsa” reflects the intersection of cultures and cuisines, creating a welcoming space for hotel guests and locals alike to gather throughout the day.
Mr. Maurice’s Italian is our signature restaurant on the third floor serving contemporary Italian cuisine in a stylish setting. The restaurant focuses on quality ingredients and classic Italian techniques with a modern approach, creating dishes that honor Italian tradition while embracing local Kyoto ingredients where possible.
Mr. Maurice’s Rooftop Bar sits above the restaurant on the third floor, offering craft cocktails, Japanese whisky, wine, and small bites with stunning panoramic views of Kyoto’s historic Shinpukan arcade and surrounding cityscape. It’s an ideal spot for sunset drinks or evening cocktails under the stars, with both indoor and outdoor seating.
PIOPIKO is our Bar & Taco Lounge offering a laid-back atmosphere with Mexican-inspired cuisine and creative cocktails. It’s the perfect spot for casual dining, drinks with friends, or a relaxed evening after exploring Kyoto.

We’re located in Nakagyo-ku at 245-2 Kurumayacho, in the heart of Kyoto’s historic center. The hotel is integrated into the Shinpukan, a beautifully preserved 1926 elementary school transformed into a vibrant shopping and dining arcade. The Karasuma Oike subway station (Karasuma and Tozai Lines) is nearby, connecting you to Kyoto Station and attractions throughout the city. Many of Kyoto’s UNESCO World Heritage sites are within 15-30 minutes by transit or bike.
Absolutely! Kyoto is one of the world’s best cycling cities, and we offer Tokyo Bike rentals for hotel guests (first-come, first-served). The flat streets, dedicated bike lanes, and compact size make cycling the ideal way to explore temples, shrines, traditional neighborhoods, and the riverside paths. We can provide route suggestions and maps at the front desk.
We’re connected to the Karasuma Oike subway station (Karasuma and Tozai Lines), giving you access to the entire city. Kyoto’s bus network is extensive and stops near most major attractions. For the most enjoyable experience, we recommend renting a Tokyo Bike from us—Kyoto is incredibly bike-friendly and cycling lets you discover hidden temples and quiet neighborhoods at your own pace.
