Join Carla Lalli at Ace Hotel Brooklyn for a cozy Sunday afternoon tea reading. There will be warm tea and a reading from Food is a Feeling, plus stunning cakes inspired by recipes in the book. Guests will also enjoy professional tea leaf and tarot readings from artist collective Chinatown Soup.
Your ticket includes a signed copy of Food is a Feeling, tea, snacks, and a tea leaf or tarot reading. Additional beverages from Ace Hotel’s excellent lobby bar (N/A and alcoholic) will be available for purchase.

Join us for an architectural walk and collage workshop with multimedia artist, educator and current 2026 Artist-in-Residence Curry J. Hackett. Guests will learn to tell stories by remix archival images, photos, and ephemera from the artist-in-residence to develop their own reimaginings of Gowanus and downtown Brooklyn.
