Efficient Space is blessed to host East Kingson, Jamaica’s Gavsborg at Ace Hotel Sydney on Wednesday 27 March.
Gavsborg co-founded future-dancehall crew Equiknoxx Music in 2000, later storming the Billboard charts with Busy Signal’s burner Step Out. Pushing their mutant sound to the outer limits, the collective would align with Demdike Stare’s DDS, releasing two albums of leftfield heat-seeking riddims and an apex remix set from Mark Ernestus. Their various configurations have since proliferated self-releases, remixed Fever Ray and Thom Yorke and toured extensively, with a monthly NTS residency in its 6th year.
Responsible for some of Equiknoxx’s most irrepressible cuts, Gavsborg aka unkle G will bring his quality time vibrations to the lobby, with Noise In My Head on warm-up. From 7PM-late. Free entry.
